Glamping Dome Installation Guide (Step-by-Step)
This guide provides a comprehensive, step-by-step process for installing a glamping dome, based on the video provided.
Step 1: Unpack and Verify All Components
-
Begin by carefully unpacking the wooden cases to access all the materials.
-
Check all components against the provided packing list. This includes:
Step 2: Prepare the Ground and Mark the Base
-
Choose a suitable, flat installation site for your dome.
-
Find the exact center point of your chosen location and mark it with a nail [00:44].
-
Using a rope tied to the nail, measure and draw a perfect circle on the ground. For a 6-meter dome, the radius of this circle should be 9.84 feet (3 meters) [00:54].
Step 3: Install the Door Frame
-
Assemble the main door frame and place it on the ground just outside the circle you drew [01:07].
-
Measure the width of the door frame (31.52 inches or 0.8 meters) and mark the corresponding points on the ground [01:25].
-
Secure the door frame to your platform using screws [01:40].
Step 4: Assemble the Dome's Framework
-
Lay out the base plates and the base ring struts along the marked circle [01:54].
-
Begin assembling the framework by connecting the struts and base plates with screws, working from the outside in [02:16].
-
Follow the provided assembly pattern to connect all the struts. Ensure you use the correct type of strut for each connection (upwards, horizontal, downwards) [02:34].
-
Once all struts are in place, use a wrench to fully tighten all screws for a secure structure [03:42].
-
Anchor the dome's base to the platform using screws (for a wooden platform) or expansion screws (for a cement platform) [04:01].
Step 5: Install the Sunroof
-
Assemble the sunroof frame [04:40].
-
Attach the assembled sunroof to the dome's framework using stainless steel duct clamps, placing it just below the apex of the tent [04:50].
Step 6: Install the Inner Insulation Liner
-
Find the apex point of the insulation liner and attach it to the top of the dome frame [05:08].
-
Locate the liner's door position and secure it to the dome's door frame with zip ties [05:15].
-
Continue straightening the liner from the top down, fastening it to the frame with zip ties [05:43].
Step 7: Install the Windows
-
Identify the correct location for the round window frame: it's the twelfth triangle from the door on the second tier [06:29].
-
Roll up the inner liner to create an opening [08:41].
-
Cut a small slit in the liner and slowly cut a circular hole using the window frame as a guide. Repeat for the outer cover [08:52].
-
Attach the window frame to the dome framework using screws and nuts [06:44].
Step 8: Install the Solar Exhaust Fan
-
Choose a location for the fan from the designated green circles on the assembly drawing [10:44].
-
Disassemble the protective net from the fan's body [11:01].
-
Mark and cut a circular hole for the fan on both the inner liner and outer cover [11:34].
-
From the outside, place the protective net over the hole, ensuring its screw holes align with the struts [12:33].
-
From the inside, use screws to secure the inner frame and net to the struts [13:32].
-
Attach the remaining fan parts to the net from the outside [14:06].
-
Tighten all screws and apply silicone sealant where the fan meets the outer cover to prevent leaks [14:12].
Step 9: Install the Door
-
Secure the outer cover and liner around the door frame with aluminum strips [14:54].
-
Install the door, and then trim any excess fabric from the cover and liner along the aluminum strips [14:56].
